The team at Visual Obsession can transform your important safety training, driver training, health, medical or first aid training message into a creative, interactive software program, or training video that is remembered by your target audience. We have professionally filmed and edited safety training and emergency procedure videos as well as created interactive multimedia software programs for governments and corporate clients in a diverse range of industries across Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia and PNG. Visual Obsession also specialise in custom development of education and training resources for indigenous and low-literacy audiences and have created several programs for the Australian Government’s national HitNET touch screen kiosk network.

Australian Maritime Safety Authority

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority contracted Visual Obsession to film oil spill and rescue training exercises. Requirements included two broadcast production cameras (Sony digital widescreen high definition HDW 750P and a Panasonic digital widescreen DVC Pro50) and a digital still camera (Nikon D2X 12.5mp) to shoot from a helicopter with Tyler side mount, on the deck of the AMSA ship 'Pacific Responder' and on board the AMSA fixed wing aircraft 'Dawnier'.

Torres Strait Regional Authority

The Torres Strait Regional Authorityrequired assistance in the production of a promotion / educational DVD to be used as a visual information tool by the Land and Sea Unit It was presented and well received at the “Caring for Country” conference at the National Indigenous Land & Sea Management Conference in Cardwell with the Girringun Aboriginal Corporation. Our broadcast video production team travelled to the Torres Strait to film on location, with file footage of turtles nesting and baby turtles hatching made available from Visual Obsession’s own collection. Training offered to members of the Land and Sea Unit in the presentation of the production was an added bonus for the client.

Mulgrave Land Care

The objective of this DVD was to showcase new environmentally friendly technologies that Land Care and the sugar cane farmers have invented and adapted to assist in the protection of the Great Barrier Reef and the world heritage listed rainforests. Editing took place during November 2008 and DVD’s duplicated and dispatched in December 2008. The footage was shot using a broadcast DVCPRO50 widescreen digital camera and edited on a Liquid Silver edit suite and authored using Adobe Encore.

Catchment to the Sea - The Mighty Burdekin River

In Aug 2003, the Burdekin Development Council tendered for a documentary on the Burdekin River and Dam, to be shown in the areas’ new Power Station Museum. Visual Obsession was awarded the contract in January 2004.

During January and February Visual Obsession filming crew traveled to the Burdekin to shoot the documentary footage, including some amazing lightning storms.

After scripting and editing, the completed documentary was unveiled on Queensland Day where it can now be seen on a large plasma screen by visitors to the Museum.

Ready For The Road - Book

Queensland Transport - Ready for the Road

Visual Obsession adapted Queensland Transport’s Your Keys to Driving in Queensland into an interactive software program and complimentary printed resource booklet for indigenous audiences called Ready for the Road. The software program features animated indigenous cartoon characters with common indigenous language voice overs to deliver key messages complimented by animated interactive driving scenario demonstrations and road rule quizzes to give users instant feedback about their level of understanding. The printed booklet features characters from the software program with written versions of the interactive tests and real photos of driving situations taken in regional communities. Ready for the Road is being rolled out across Queensland Transport centres in Cairns, Cape York and Far North Queensland from May 2010.

Hutchinson Builders

Visual Obsession filmed and edited a suite of safety training and policy induction videos for Hutchinson Builders worksite induction programs. The training videos used real people and work scenarios to detail safety policies/procedures, dilapidation report processes and more and were shot on location at Hutchinson’s various work sites including Blue Water Estate and the Cairns Base Hospital. All contractors and employees of Hutchinson Builders must watch the DVD/s and sign a safety declaration form before they are permitted to work on a Hutchinson site. Visual Obsession continues to work with Hutchinson to create site specific induction and training videos for all their job sites.
