Logistics

When you work with us you are dealing with professionals who understand the technical, creative and logistical requirements of national and international documentary makers. Working Visas

When coming to Australia to work, you are required by law to be sponsored. Acquiring the relevant working visas is the first step. An application form must be completed and lodged with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Consultation with the relevant Australian union is also required. Guidelines on the entry into Australia of foreign actors for the purpose of employment in film and television productions can also be found at the Department of The Arts.

Not only will we organise and your international shoot within Australia, we can come to you. Visual Obsession Cameraman was Contracted to film in Indonesia with well know Australian Director, Christopher Zinn. This involved filming 12 stories within 14 days. Dodging military convoys, tense moments with Indonesian Customs, long night drives through Ache rebel territory and United Nation flights to Nias Island were just a small part of the fun had while on this shoot for the Tsunami commemoration. The final production was aired on almost every International Cable Television Network.

Legacy of China - International Film Company


Going to Film in FNQ ? The company that produced the Legacy of China Production has hired Visual Obsession on several occasions for location management, logistics, indigenous talent hire, aerial photography, community liaisons, purchasing film stock and many other logistical requirements associated with a International film shoot. On this particular job, we delivered again and know these guys will be back for more, unique Australian outback filming….can’t blame them, the pictures were absolutely stunning, captured with an ARRIFLEX 16 mm Film camera operated by International Award winning Camera man and Director made sure of that!

Ancient Mega-Tsunamis - New York Production Company for National Geographic


Organizing visas, filming permits, sound recorder, various production crew (in FNQ and NSW) and experienced indigenous performers was all part of the brief for this client. Having used us on other jobs it was straightforward, they simply sent us the brief and let us do take care of all the preparation. Arriving late at night, everything was fully organised and production was well underway the next day. Many of the sequences were filmed with CGI in mind for the post. Over the course of 9 days, we were setting up shots in a variety of locations including Mornington Island, and Cairns locations, including beaches, creek and rain forest at night and during the day, the whole production was very smooth. New Zealand warrior sequence was also organized by us and filmed at an appropriate location.

Beche De Mer Showreel


Crocodiles, stingers, dirty water, sharks, rough seas and drunken sailors all in a days work on this job! Often the more difficult the shoot the better the end product, who else goes to this kind of effort to capture what it is to be a real commercial diving fisherman! Filmed in the Kimberly area of the Northern Territory we met up with the fishermen that put their life on the line almost everyday.
