Excellent communication and dedication form the basis of the close-knit team at Visual Obsession. They have been working together for a long time, and the team strength has been tested through many periods of intense pressure and multiple simultaneous deadlines. All staff understand the strengths and weaknesses of each member of the team and look out for each other, offering to take the load off overburdened co-workers.

Kevin Austin
Managing DirectorKevin is owner / director of Visual Obsession and Harleys Educational Supplies. His major focus is to ensure that media production at every stage is effectively managed and that quality remains at the highest possible level. His role also includes graphic design, directing and conducting photo shoots, video production and broadcast video editing. Kevin is accredited with a Diploma of Information Technology and Multimedia Integration – Project Management, an Advanced Diploma of Business Management and an Advanced Diploma of Business Marketing (current) through Intech Institute of Technology.
Jenny Austin
DirectorJenny is owner / director of Visual Obsession and Harleys Educational Supplies. Jenny is accredited with Cairns Business Woman of the Year in 2000, Small Employer of the Year Finalist, Retailer Excellence Award and Best Overall Performance in Retail for School Based Trainee. Jenny has had many trainees complete their retail skills course with distinctions. Jenny is an avid supporter of trainee programs.
Corey Austin
Production Manager and Broadcast Camera OperatorCorey is the Production manager and broadcast camera operator. Corey is accredited with a Diploma of Information Technology and Multimedia Integration - Project Management, an Advanced Diploma of Business Management and an Advanced Diploma of Business Marketing (current) through Intech Institute of Technology. Corey specialises in project planning, budget control, quality control, logistical coordination, lighting, still photography and script writing.
Kristy Vallely
Sales, Marketing and Project ManagementAs Creative Director, Kristy oversees projects and staff, and is responsible for the overall quality of graphics produced. Kristy manages creative projects from concept to completion and translates client’s requirements into creative outcomes. Kristy leads and directs the creative team in the production of advertising and marketing collateral. Kristy was a finalist for Cairns Business Woman of the Year 2005 - Corporate Section.
Chris Gillis
Web Developer and ProgrammerChris has a QANTM Diploma of Multimedia, Certificate III in Information Technology and Certificate IV in Network Management. Chris is project manager for large website development including: content management systems, database development and software integration. He is skilled at programming and scripting with languages such as PHP, ASP, MySQL, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, ActionScript, and Lingo. His tasks include; graphic design, web development and testing, Flash animation, Special FX, post production, research and development.
Clint Hook
Multimedia DeveloperClint has a QANTM Diploma of Multimedia. Clint specialises in photographic restoration and enhancement, graphic design and magazine layout with programs such as Adobe CS2 Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Macromedia 8 Suite (Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash). Clint has experience with Photoshop techniques and effects, still photography, broadcast camera operation, website design and development with content management systems, Flash animation and scripting with PHP, HTML, XHTML, XML ActionScript and CSS.
Milly Darby
Business Administration and ReceptionistCurrently studying Certificate IV in Information Technology. Milly is a Project Manager and Papua New Guinea cultural adviser and has 10 years experience with HRD Savi Advertising Agency, Port Moresby. Milly has extensive experience in Broadcast Television and print campaigning for Aids Awareness Promotions, throughout PNG for AusAid. Milly’s role includes overseeing projects and staff, administration, front desk, customer service and providing support to the Production Manager and Creative Director.
Nova Austin
Workplace Health and Safety OfficerHuman Resource and Workplace Health and Safety. Nova is the company’s qualified trainer and assessor with a BSZ40198 Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and a Certificate IV in Retail Management. Nova is accredited with an Advanced Diploma of Business Management, and an Advanced Diploma of Business Marketing (current). Nova was a finalist for the Australian Institute of Management Young Managers Award. Nova is the manager for Harleys Educational Supplies, a Visual Obsession sister company.
Geremy Krause
Multimedia DeveloperGeremy has a Bachelor of Science. Geremy is skilled in the use of programs such as Adobe CS2 Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), and Macromedia 8 Suite (Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash). Geremy is currently studying a Diploma of Multimedia & Certificate IV duties and his include graphic design, website design and development and Flash animation.
Katrina Smith
Essential Book Keeping ServiceKatrina carries out accounts to trial balance, bank reconciliation, debtors, creditors, payroll, GST reconciliation, preparations of BAS, general business administration. Katrina is also part of the graphic design team and is currently training to Certificate IV in Information Technology. Katrina specialises in hand drawn and painted designs for logo designs website and story board development. Katrina has painted and sold many pieces of art to collectors and decorators.
Emma Walker
Multimedia DeveloperCurrently being trained by Visual Obsession to Certificate 4 level in Information Technology, her duties include graphic design, website design, magazine layout design, large format printing and inter active multi media.
Guy Richards
Multimedia DeveloperGuy has extensive knowledge of programs such as Adobe CS2 Suite (In Design, Photoshop and Illustrator), Macromedia 8 Suite (Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash), Adobe Audition 2, Sonar Cakewalk Producer 5, Discreet Combustion 4 and Discreet 3D Studio Max 9. Guy is experienced in 3D animation, 3D architectural design, Physics (using the Reactor system and world environment) photo-realistic rendering using the Vray Rendering system, web design, graphic design, development of content management system and script using: action script, HTML, XML, PHP and CSS. Guy also has experience as a sound engineer, jingle composer and musician, as well as an extensive knowledge of the music industry.
Christopher-Jay McNamee
Multimedia DeveloperChristopher-Jay McNamee, is a Graphic and media artist. He has completed a certificate 3 and 4 in Multimedia and a certificate 4 in Graphic Design through the Hunter institute of TAFE. Christopher has a great knowledge of programs such as Adobe CS2 Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), and Macromedia 8 Suite (Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash).
Mikayla Christian
Graphic Designer, Aboriginal & Cultural ArtMikayla has a strong artistic and technical ability and is a school based trainee from Napranum Community, Cape York. Trained by Visual Obsession to Certificate IV level in Information Technology. Her duties include graphic design, Indigenous artwork, website design, magazine layout and interactive multimedia using programs such as Adobe CS2 Suite (In Design, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Macromedia 8 Suite (Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash).
Craig McDiarmid

Craig’s current duties include website design, network and hardware management, PHP scripting, HTML, interactive multimedia and video production editing using Liquid Silver.
Daniel Fisher
Kuku Yalanji TribeKuku Yalanji Tribe – On a job-by-job basis, Daniel is Visual Obsession’s project leader for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural research. Daniel develops Indigenous content for cultural centres and other media productions that require Indigenous interpretation. He ensures cultural sensitivities are respected.
